Basingstoke Town Football Club are pleased to announce that the club and their supporters will be fund raising for Naomi House this season. Naomi House is a children’s hospice, caring for children with life limiting conditions, located between Basingstoke and Winchester. Naomi House have recently, like a lot of organisations, been caught up in the collapse of the Icelandic banking system. Rather than take the opportunity to carry an additional sponsor name above the number on the back of the shirts this season, Basingstoke Town have decided to carry the Naomi House logo with the aim of highlighting the Hospice’s work across the Conference South and to fundraise for the hospice during the 2009/10 season. Commercial Manager John Gaston said “at a time when the club is beginning to move forward and is attracting more interest and sponsorship this is a great opportunity for the club to put something back into the community for a facility that provides support to youngsters and families from our Town. Naomi House are very pleased that the club have made this generous offer, and at their first visit, for a recent pre-season friendly, over £200.00 was raised in a bucket collection”.
