U21s Management Team Announced

At the end of last season BTFC announced the launch of its new under 21 elite development squad. Designed to help further develop players already at the club, the new programme has got underway with a new man at the helm. Jason Bristow has named Sam Waters as manager of the u21s.

Bristow speaks highly of Waters: “Sam is a full time professional football coach who is currently working towards his UEFA A Licence. Sam will bring a wealth of experience in youth development to Basingstoke Town having previously worked in the Academy at Southampton, as well as holding senior Academy Management roles at both Aldershot Town and Crawley Town Football Clubs. He has a proven track record of producing football players at a variety of levels and will play an integral role in producing future first team players for Basingstoke Town Football Club.”

Bristow has also named Stephen Mills, David Kelly and Ben Shore on the U21 management team to assist Waters.

“Stephen, David and Ben each bring with them their own experiences and knowledge of the game. I am very confident that as a team they will succeed and help create a brighter future for BTFC” commented Bristow.

“Stephen is a UEFA B Licence full time professional football coach with extensive experience in youth development having previously held academy coaching roles at Southampton, Aldershot Town and Crawley Town Football Clubs. Stephen has also coached in the USA with a variety of age groups and abilities.” 

“David holds the UEFA B Licence and FA Youth Award. He works full time in football and has experience working with a variety of young players at varying levels from grass roots through to semi-professional and professional football clubs. David has previously worked with clubs such as Fulham, Chelsea and Aldershot Town. David is also a qualified goalkeeper coach.”

“Ben recently graduated from the university of Roehampton with a degree in sports coaching. Ben is also a full time professional football coach who holds the UEFA B Licence. His CV boasts a full time Academy role at Aldershot Town as well as part time roles with Chelsea and Crawley Town. Ben has also coached football at a variety of levels with varying age groups in the USA and brings a wealth of experience to Basingstoke Town.”
